Which burner for which project?

When designing a bespoke fireplace for your home, it’s important to be aware of all the options available to make the right burner choice. A mechanical or electronic ethanol burner? what size? with large or small opening? What power? There are a number of options available to you, but sometimes it’s hard to make sense of all the information…

To begin with, it’s important to ask yourself a few questions before deciding which burner to choose.

Power in watts Minimum surface area in m²
2 kW 15m2
2.5 kw 20m2
3 kw 30 m²
5 kw 30 m²
6 kw 30 m²
7 kw 40 m²
8 kw 45 m²

Which wattage is right for my home?

Ethanol fireplaces are not defined as main heating appliances, but if you choose a burner that is too large for the surface area of your room, its heat output is sure to raise the temperature considerably! So it’s vital to pay close attention to the wattage in relation to the surface area of your room.

Our ethanol burners range in power from 2.2 kw to 8.9 kw . To help you choose the most suitable wattage, here is a summary table showing the recommended minimum surface area

For custom-built fireplaces, we have developed specific burners with wider hatches. This is possible if the recommended chimney height and width are respected. The flame is then more powerful and the calorific value higher.

All our ethanol burners are technical products made in France at our production plant in the Oise region. They are designed, engineered and tested to withstand repeated and severe thermal stress. Each unit is individually tested, guaranteeing a high level of quality, tightness and safety.

Which shape to choose?

We offer 3 different types of burner:

  • Slim” type burners, rectangular and offering 6 different sizes for different flame lengths but similar height and depth.
  • The rectangular “Rockn’OL 2.5L” burner is deeper and slightly higher than the Slim burner. Ideal for integration into an existing fireplace.
  • The “360°” round burner, more original and stylish than ever, for custom integration into contemporary, rounded shapes.

Which technology to choose?

Depending on your needs, you can choose either a mechanical or an electronic burner. The electronic burner should be selected for establishments open to the public (to comply with standard NF D35-386). Mechanical burners are better suited to individual consumers seeking the pleasure of a flame, as they are less restrictive in terms of use, with longer combustion times. What’s more, the purchase cost is lower for mechanical burners, as there is no technology involved.
