Are bioethanol fireplaces easy to install?
Yes, everything has been designed so that installation and initial commissioning can be completed in just a few minutes, without any work.
We supply the fasteners required for installation, as well as a ruler for accurately marking the center-to-center distance of the mounting holes.
This ruler can also be used to fit a spirit level to ensure that the fireplace is horizontal. An installation video is available on the site.
Can bioethanol fireplaces be installed outdoors?
No, because our burners are equipped with electronic cards and batteries that are not waterproof.
Can bio-ethanol fireplaces be moved?
As a general rule, we recommend fixing the chimney to the frame (wall or floor). However, we accept that fireplaces equipped with gel burners may not be fixed to the floor.
In fact, our gel burners are equipped with a safety system in the event of impact or tilting: a hatch closes instantly in both cases.
Liquid burners must always be attached to the frame.

Are our bio ethanol fireplaces heating products?
We can speak of comfort heating. Ethanol burners are integrated into wall-mounted or floor-standing brackets for decoration and ambience. The French standard NF D35-386 defines ethanol fireplaces as appliances that operate intermittently for periods of up to 3 hours, with a maximum output of 4650 W, to remove any ambiguity on the subject.
How long does it take to burn bioethanol fireplaces?
You can enjoy a continuous flame for up to 3 hours in our bio-ethanol fireplaces, as required by the NF D35 – 386 standard.
Can we cut the flame of our bioethanol fireplace before 3 hours of combustion?
Of course, you can stop your fireplace burning whenever you like.
To do this, press the “off” button on the burner.
For fireplaces with an ethanol gel burner, the flame will cut out instantly.
For fireplaces with liquid ethanol burners, the flame will go out after one or two minutes.
How much does ethanol cost?
The price of ethanol for our fireplaces varies according to quality. Good-quality ethanol costs between €2.5/L and €3.5/L.
Where can we get liquid ethanol for our fireplaces?
To obtain Aluflam ethanol, you must go exclusively through Ignisial (manufacturer of bio ethanol fireplaces), i.e. either through one of our dealers in France or via our online store by clicking on the “Buy ethanol” tab.
For liquid ethanol, you can go through us in the same way as for gel, or you can buy it in specialized supermarkets.
Are there any special precautions to be taken when storing ethanol?
The ethanol used in our fireplaces requires no special storage conditions. It should be kept in the same place as household products, out of the reach of children.
Is ethanol environmentally friendly?
The bioethanol used in our fireplaces is a fuel presented as an ecological alternative to fossil fuels.
The bioethanol used in our fireplaces is nothing more and nothing less than the concentration and dehydration of an alcohol obtained mainly from cereals, beet or sugar cane.
The emissions resulting from the combustion of the ethanol used in our chimneys are essentially made up of water vapour.
Like all flames, the ethanol flame generates CO2. Not only are the quantities measured minute, but they are also continuously measured by our burners.
If combustion were to deteriorate, the unit would stop immediately. Our tests at the Laboratoire National d’Essais have confirmed that our burners contribute to clean combustion.
Can we add essential oils to liquid ethanol in our fireplaces?
No, the French standard forbids the use of additives such as essential oils, perfumes, etc.
